Job description

Personal Care Assistant Required. We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to provide bespoke, person-centred assistance to a young male with a learning disability. This role focuses on facilitating social and developmental activities, community inclusion, and the development of independence skills. Job Role will involve afternoon / evenings and weekend work. Hours are flexible and to be discussed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the individual with personal hygiene tasks.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to the individual.
  • Support the individual in accessing the local community, engaging in hobbies, and going for walks.
  • Support the individual in their home with developmental activities.
  • Create and support sensory play; such as puzzles, activities and arts.
  • Observe and report any changes in the individual's physical or emotional condition to the Employer or healthcare professionals promptly.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Support hobbies, games and developmental activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously using own initiative.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in working with individuals with young adults with Learning Disability.
