Strategy & Bid Development Leader


Job description

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Strategy & Bid Development Lead to drive organisational growth through the development of high-quality bids, tenders and strategic proposals. Reporting to the Director of Service Provision & Strategic Growth, you will identify new opportunities, manage Lena's product and proposition portfolio, and lead the end-to-end bid development process.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and progress strategic growth opportunities aligned with Lena’s mission, capabilities and long-term direction
  • Translate market intelligence, customer insight, service performance data and clinical expertise into clear priorities for growth and development
  • Develop business cases, opportunity assessments and strategic recommendations to support decision-making
  • Work with colleagues across Lena and Inspire Group to identify opportunities that support sustainable growth and service impact
  • Lead the end-to-end development of high-quality bids, tenders and proposals for strategic opportunities

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable as the role may involve working in and travelling to various locations throughout Ireland.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car. Business insurance will be a requirement for this post. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
  • Third level qualification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development, bid management, strategic planning, service development or a related field.
  • Proven experience of procurement, tendering, bid management or commissioning processes within large organisations and/or public sector environments, including the development of high-quality, compliant and evidence-based submissions.
  • Demonstrable experience of owning and delivering strategic growth initiatives, identifying and progressing opportunities aligned to organisational priorities, customer needs and long-term business objectives.
  • Experience of using performance data, market intelligence, customer insight and service evidence to inform proposals, recommendations and decision-making.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive and accurate content tailored to customer requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Strong planning, organisation and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage timelines, contributors, risks and review processes effectively.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
