Job description
As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role within the production team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating the machine to ensure it is configured to the correct product specifications, enabling efficient production and consistent product quality. The role also involves maintaining accurate product traceability through correct machine settings and production records, while ensuring all work is carried out in line with food safety, quality, and health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the machine.
- Ensure machine is configured to the correct product specifications.
- Read and interpret product specifications, production plans, run rates, and portion requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Carry out product quality checks, including weight and gel checks, label verification, and completion of production paperwork to maintain product traceability and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, issue mixes, use alginate and associated equipment correctly, and ensure production targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
- Maintain equipment and the work area in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition by following all cleaning and food safety procedures.
- Complete all required training and competency assessments, including Food Industry Skills training, and work independently once competen
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Readiness to complete role training programme.
- Good communication skills.
- Competent reading and writing in English language.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in food manufacturing.
