Mechanic


Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing vehicles and trailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and performing routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in the equipment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety and maintenance in all tasks and operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to contribute to the overall success and efficiency of our company.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities repairs and service history.
  • Utilise strong mechanical skills to ensure precision and reliability in all aspects of the job.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail in maintaining the quality and performance of equipment.
  • Work seamlessly as part of a team fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ability to work in a busy high pressure environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC, or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair (or an equivalent qualification), or demonstrable equivalent experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
  • Required Education Skills and Qualifications for Mechanic.
  • Previous experience in the repair of HGV trucks and trailers.
  • Practical knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment techniques.
  • Computer literate.
  • Full valid driving licence HGV licence preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail Knowledge of electrics electronics and hydraulics is an advantage.
  • Good all-round mechanical skills.

Desirable Skills

  • High level of enthusiasm self motivation and a can do attitude.
