Job description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing vehicles and trailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and performing routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in the equipment.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and maintenance in all tasks and operations.
- Collaborate with the team to contribute to the overall success and efficiency of our company.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities repairs and service history.
- Utilise strong mechanical skills to ensure precision and reliability in all aspects of the job.
- Demonstrate a keen attention to detail in maintaining the quality and performance of equipment.
- Work seamlessly as part of a team fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Ability to work in a busy high pressure environment.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC, or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair (or an equivalent qualification), or demonstrable equivalent experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
- Required Education Skills and Qualifications for Mechanic.
- Previous experience in the repair of HGV trucks and trailers.
- Practical knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment techniques.
- Computer literate.
- Full valid driving licence HGV licence preferable but not essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail Knowledge of electrics electronics and hydraulics is an advantage.
- Good all-round mechanical skills.
Desirable Skills
- High level of enthusiasm self motivation and a can do attitude.
