Relief Project Worker
Job description
Main function: Provide the highest possible standard of care and support to Service Users by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach.
Responsibilities
- Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
- Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Maintain clear, accurate, timely and complete electronic and written records/ documentation and appropriately use organisational information systems as required.
- Support junior staff, liaise with colleagues and managers/other professional personnel to report and record progress or difficulties and in particular any issues of concern, unusual behaviour or deterioration in health
- Be an integral member of, and work in close co-operation with, all members of Inspire and representatives of relevant statutory, voluntary and regulatory bodies to achieve the standards set by them.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement new skills and knowledge to competently fulfil the requirements of the post.
- Take ownership of your continuous personal development to maximise your potential and contribution, including maintaining your supervision file, Individual Development Plan/Performance Improvement Plan and completed training records/records.
- Have knowledge and understanding of, and contribute to, Inspire and Inspire Mental Health’s strategic objectives and how your role and personal objectives contribute to their achievement.
- Members of staff are expected to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner in accordance with the Dignity at Work Procedure.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting
- OR A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.
