Senior Leisure Officer
Job description
To assist the Duty Manager with the organisation and supervision of all aspects of operational staff duties, and to ensure that the highest standards of health and safety, cleanliness and general customer care are maintained at all times. Responsibilities
- To supervise all members of the Leisure Attendant, Swimming Teaching, and other Operational Staff, ensuring compliance with all Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans.
- Prepare daily and weekly staff rotas, covering absences and ensuring staff levels meet operational requirements at all times.
- Proactively manage members of the Leisure Attendant and swimming teaching team, including recording of time and attendance, and application of the Council’s absence management and performance management policy.
- Deputise for the Duty Manager when required, including opening and closing of the facility, acting as a key holder, and responding to emergency callouts.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Possess a current National Pool Lifeguard qualification or equivalent.
- Applicants must provide specific and personal examples of having at least 2 years relevant experience in following areas: Working within a wet or dry leisure facility; Dealing with the public in a customer service environment; Supervising staff.
Desirable Skills
- Hold other relevant coaching/ teaching qualifications e.g. swimming teacher, RLSS NPLQ Trainer Assessor.
