Home Improvement Grants Development Officer


Job description

The Home Improvement Grants Development Officer will develop policies and procedures and implement improvement initiatives across a suite of funding schemes for the private housing sector. These schemes are aimed at improving housing standards, addressing disrepair and remedying unfitness, improving energy efficiency, reducing fuel poverty and enabling persons with a disability to live as independently as possible and to remain in their own home.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret legislation to inform and formulate policies and procedures for Home Improvement Grants in the private sector, including preparation of guidance documentation, tools and templates.
  • Identify new policy and procedural needs that will drive improvement and development.
  • Prepare and provide training, advice and guidance to management and area office teams in interpreting and implementing Home Improvement Grant policies.
  • Manage queries relating to grants Test of Resources and liaise with the Department for Communities and other agencies when required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Hold a degree or an equivalent level qualification (Level 6) and can demonstrate 2 years relevant experience OR
  • Hold a BTECH higher or equivalent level qualification (Level 5) and demonstrate 3 years relevant experience OR
  • Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development / experiential learning and demonstrate at least 4 years relevant experience.
