Job description

Join Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in Ballymena as an LGV Driver and support the delivery of essential services across the local community. Working as part of a busy operational team, you will play a key role in ensuring routes are completed efficiently and safely while maintaining a high standard of service.

Responsibilities

• Provide general driving support to Operational Services to ensure that all refuse is removed from household, industrial and commercial premises such as houses, shops, schools, business premises for appropriate disposal
• Responsible for any vehicle, equipment, passengers etc. allocated for the purpose of waste collection, cleansing, recycling or other appropriate services.
• Responsible for any other duties in the event that driving duties are not required or have been completed as per the daily schedule.
• Duties may be allocated anywhere in the Borough and include emptying/ cleaning litter or dog waste bins and clearance of any illegal dumping and dead animals and recorded and stored in accordance with policy.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Valid Category C Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
• A minimum of one years’ continuous LGV driving experience.
• Must successfully pass a driving assessment.
• Please Note - Any penalty points active on the driving license must be declared along with the relevant code, these will then be assessed for relevance to the duties of the post.

About the role: £15.31 per hour Monday to Thursday (7.30 am to 3.30 pm) Friday (7.30am to 12.30pm) Ongoing for 3 months (possible extension) Public Sector Overtime, double time and triple time rates available from outset Please note, closing date for applications is Wednesday 12th August
