MPA Recruitment is recruiting experienced Temporary Cooks to work across nursing homes and Housing with Care settings in the Derry/Londonderry area.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Prepare nutritious meals for up to 40 residents.
• Cater for individual dietary and nutritional needs.
• Prepare modified diets and fluids in line with IDDSI.
• Maintain food safety, HACCP and allergen records.
• Manage stock, ordering and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Environmental Health and RQIA requirements.
• Oversee dining areas during mealtimes.
• Complete menu planning and other records using IT systems.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• QCF/NVQ Level 2 Catering or equivalent OR at least 1 year's professional cooking experience.
• Minimum 6 months professional cooking experience if qualified.
• Experience running a professional kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety and Environmental Health standards.
• Experience with specialist diets and nutritional requirements.
• Stock control and budgeting experience.
• Good organisation and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced Access NI check required.
