Job description

Inspect, service and repair a diverse range of commercial vehicles, trailers and goods handling equipment (e.g. forklift trucks, telescopic handlers etc.) to ensure they are road worthy and legally compliant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for PSV/MOT in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
• Apply appropriate diagnostic techniques to determine the cause(s) of defects in vehicles, plant, components and systems, including use of diagnostic computer.
• Report the findings and making recommendations to management.
• Update the vehicles' service history on the company computer system.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment within the workshop and follow all company health and safety procedures and use equipment and tools safely.
• Liaise with colleagues and management.
• Other responsibilities, as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in a similar role or in a commercial vehicle garage.
• Ability to identify faults and determine effective repairs.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Effective communication and strong problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence.

Desirable Skills

• Welding experience.
• Own basic hand tools.
