You will be an experienced Wind Turbine Technician, and be proficient in performing service and maintenance duties on wind turbines. Scheduled and unscheduled servicing. Complete nacelle refurbishments.
Responsibilities
- Scheduled and unscheduled servicing.
- Complete nacelle refurbishments.
- Decommissioning and recommissioning of turbines.
- Mechanical failures requiring - laser alignment of the generator and gearbox, blade swaps, hub swaps & gearbox swaps.
- Various electrical faults and component failures.
- You will also get the opportunity to fully decommission turbines/towers and install larger turbines in the place of the original turbine through our "Repowering" projects.
- Complete all documentation and paperwork which is required with the function of an experienced Wind Turbine Technician, these include (but not limited to); Timesheets, job sheets, service checklists, warranty checklists, field service reports etc.
- Required to follow all the procedures in place to ensure yours and your colleague’s health and safety is paramount.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- You will come from either an electrical or mechanical background and have extensive experience in fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
- Hold the relevant GWO certificates required to allow you to carry out working on wind turbines.
- Should your GWO certificates have expired you will be required to attend the following training; working at heights and rescue course and first aid for remote working on wind turbines.
Desirable Skills
- Pneumatic and hydraulic experience would be beneficial also.
Further Information
Work Time: You will work Monday to Friday and have the opportunity for overtime and weekend work. Travel and working away will be required in this role. Silverford Engineering is a specialist in the operation, maintenance, and management of small and medium scale wind turbines. We operate across Northern Ireland from our head office in Dungannon. The successful candidate will play a key part within the continued expansion of this business.
