Personal Assistant / Companion Support Worker Overview We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant-Companion to support our friendly young adult daughter. Please note: This is not a traditional personal care role, as she is largely independent with her daily personal care. About Our Daughter Our daughter is fun, friendly, creative and enjoys getting out and about. She loves trying new things and has a wide range of interests.

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging independence.
  • Supporting an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
  • Encourage creativity (e.g. photography, painting, social media).
  • Support simple everyday life skills where appropriate.
  • Communicate with family as required.
  • Support her to try new hobbies and experiences.
  • Help build confidence in community settings.
  • May require some travel to France in winter months.
  • Encourage independence with gentle prompts and reminders.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Drive her to activities, appointments and social outings (using your own car).

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enhanced AccessNI check.
  • Access to a reliable, insured vehicle.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Positive attitude and genuine interest in supporting independence.
  • Interest in horses, motorcycles, skateboarding, photography, arts or creative activities.
  • First Aid training (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Patient, kind and dependable nature.

Her interests include: Horse riding. Motorcycle racing (Road Racing and British Superbike Championship - BSB). Learning to ride a dirt bike, ride a motorbike. Skateboarding. Skiing (may be opportunities for travel to France in winter months for ski trips). Creating social media content. Photography and creative projects. Painting and exploring new creative hobbies. Visiting cafés and local attractions. She benefits from: Gentle encouragement. Occasional reminders. Support to build confidence while maintaining independence.
