Job description

As a valued and respected member of the nursing team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care in line with Company policies and the standards set by the NMC, RQIA, and HSCT. You will support the health, safety, and overall well-being of residents by fostering a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment that enhances their quality of life. Your responsibilities will include developing individualized care plans, collaborating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, and using your professional judgment to make sound clinical decisions. You will be trusted to administer medications safely, uphold accurate and compliant resident records, and provide leadership, guidance, and professional support to care staff to ensure excellence in day-to-day care delivery. Responsibilities

  • Support the management team in the day-to-day running of Copelands in accordance with the Nursing Homes Regulations (NI) 2005, the Care Standards for Nursing Homes (DHSSPSNI, 2015)and BCM’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are consistently met.
  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of care staff, fostering a positive and professional care environment.
  • Develop, review, and implement comprehensive care plans and detailed risk assessments in line with regulatory and organisational standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • In the absence of the management team take on the role of responsible person on shift.
  • RGN qualified with active UK PIN.
  • International nurses will need to have successfully completed their OSCE exam.
  • Minimum of 1 years post - registration experience, including at least 2 years within a relevant care setting.
  • Ability to work on a rota basis (7 day week).

Desirable Skills

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a nursing or care home environment is preferred.
  • Management skills are required for a care team.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Location: Copelands Care Home. Please note part time 24.5 hours per week also available.
