Responsibilities

• The Jobs Coach will provide hands-on, person-centred job coaching, pre-employment training and ongoing employment support across hospitality, retail and horticulture/green job settings.
• The postholder will support individuals with learning disabilities and autism to develop the skills, confidence and behaviours needed to gain and sustain employment within CAN’s social enterprises and with external employers.
• The role combines practical workplace coaching, mentoring & safeguarding with partnership working and employer engagement, ensuring that participants have clear, realistic pathways into paid work, supported employment and meaningful work experience.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Relevant qualification in social care, education, employability, youth work or a related field.
• Minimum level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Experience working directly with adults with learning disabilities and autism.
• Experience of delivering hands on practical learning or coaching in real work environments.
• Experience planning and delivering structured sessions or programmes to a group.
• Experience of liaising with local employers or external partners as part of the job support role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT literacy skills.
• Full clean driving licence and ability to travel.

• Understanding of person centred approaches.
• Understanding of supported employment models.
• Creative approach to engaging individuals.
• Passion for inclusive employment and community based social enterprise.
