Job description

We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant for our client based in Derry/Londonderry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing theatre areas before and after surgical procedures
• Supporting patients before and after surgery, ensuring their comfort and dignity
• Assist registered nurse and theatre practitioners with patient care
• Prepare and restock theatre equipment and supplies
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention
• Safely transfer and position patients using appropriate moving and handling techniques
• Monitor and report any changes in a patients condition to the nursing team
• Accurately complete documentation in line with hospital policies
• Adhere to all health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Minimum six months recent experience as a healthcare assistant in a theatre setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable Skills

• NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
• Current Manual Handling and Basic Life Support Training
• Knowledge of infection prevention and theatre protocols
