Development Officer
Job description
Responsible for the development and delivery of assigned projects and to take a key role in the obtainment and management of funding for programmes and projects including development of action plans and programmes and projects. Working in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders, from both a statutory capacity and community groups to ensure integrated delivery of development projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist the manager in the development of relevant action plans to deliver department priorities assigned projects and programmes.
- Provide guidance and advice to the community sector on a range of development areas from community grants, funding, local community and village planning, good relations and capacity building.
- Support the engagement of children and young people and other Section 75 groups in all Development Department areas.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A third level qualification or 5 GCSE's Grades A-C including English Language and a numeracy-based subject plus additional years' experience.
- Work in Pomeroy and across Mid-Ulster District Council will require travel. Valid driving licence or acceptable means of transport required.
