Finance Manager
Job description
To provide administrative and financial management support to enable the Neighbourhood Management Team Ltd and Triax Ltd to manage their budgets, monitor income and expenditure, and maintain financial systems, procedures, and internal controls for efficient operations. Please note this is a job share role funded until the end of March 2027. Extension of the post is subject to future funding
Responsibilities
- Introduce, maintain, and oversee computerised accounting records (including bank reconciliations, cheque journals, and purchase ledgers).
- Operate the PAYE system, including calculating monthly staff salaries, submitting returns to Inland Revenue/HMRC, and managing annual returns.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, budgets, cash flow projections, end-of-year returns, and annual audits.
- Oversee and control the drawdown of grant funding and liaise with funders regarding financial requirements.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), including experience taking board minutes and preparing reports. Proven ability to build positive working relationships with Directors, staff, statutory bodies, and community partners.
- Proven experience in operating PAYE/payroll systems and managing HMRC returns. Hands-on experience establishing and maintaining computerised accounting systems and software packages.
- Experience in budget monitoring, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and audit preparation. Experience in funding vouching, financial monitoring, and grant drawdown procedures.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and handle external crisis pressures. Experience managing day-to-day office routines, record-keeping, and administrative systems.
- Proven ability to work self-motivated on own initiative as well as collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Skills
- DC 1: Applied knowledge of using Social Media channels in a professional context. DC 2: Knowledge of the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy and experience working within community development frameworks. DC 3: Knowledge of the grant funding environment.
