Join the team at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Portadown as a Handyperson and play an important role in supporting the maintenance and upkeep of housing properties. This is a great opportunity to contribute to essential repair and improvement works while working within a supportive public sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out external repair works to include ground works, concrete repairs and installation, flagging, and garden maintenance.
• Gutter, down pipe and soil pipe repairs.
• Excavating and laying pipes, clearage of blockages and repairs to foul and storm water drainage systems and power washing.
• Carry out internal repair works to housing stock to include minor plastering, plumbing, joinery, and painting works.
• Levelling compound to floor & concrete floor repairs.
• House clear outs.
• All general handyman duties.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a similar role i.e. Handyperson/Labourer or equivalent.
• A full current category C1 licence is required, a form of transport will be provided to enable the post holder to carry out their duties.
• IT/ Microsoft Office Proficiency Beginner.
• As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.

Further Information

About the role: £13.69 - £14.13 per hour. 37 hours per week. Holidays: 35 days pro rata. Duration:Temporary, ongoing.
