Yard Sales Advisor


Job description

The Yard Sales Advisor plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the yard and delivering a positive customer experience. As one of the first points of contact for customers, you will help create a welcoming and efficient environment while ensuring the yard remains safe, organised and well stocked. Branch opening hours are Mon - Thurs 07.30 - 17.00 Fri 07.30 - 16.00 Sat 08.00 - 12.00 and we are flexible to consider a variety of working hours/patterns to suit your needs!

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers in a friendly and professional way, supporting with product enquiries
  • Safely loading and unloading vehicles, and preparing customer orders for collection or delivery
  • Operating forklifts and handling equipment in line with safety procedures
  • Supporting stock management, including replenishment and stock counts
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard environment
  • Working with the branch team to support sales, service and operational targets
  • Completing health and safety checks and required training
  • Representing the business positively and supporting our values of decency, passion and pride.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties to support the wider team and business

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A forklift licence, or willingness to be trained
  • A strong awareness of health and safety practices
  • Communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
  • A team-focused approach
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Desirable Skills

  • Previous forklift (FLT) experience and/or licence
  • Experience in a similar or trade-related environment (helpful but not essential)
