Care Assistant REF0521 - Omagh


Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our service user who requires a Care Assistant and Personal Assistant to provide practical and social support to a lady living in the Omagh area. This is a Direct Payments funded role which focuses on promoting independence, wellbeing and community involvement. The role focuses on companionship, encouragement and light practical assistance rather than personal care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and practical assistance to help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment and support the lady in enjoying an active and fulfilling lifestyle within her local community.
  • Duties will include carrying out light household tasks.
  • Supporting and accompanying the lady to access the local community.
  • Encouraging and assisting with social activities and outings.
  • Supporting hobbies and interests particularly arts and crafts.
  • Accompanying her on walks and social engagements.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • The successful applicant must also be confident driving and willing to undergo an AccessNI check.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous care or support experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in supporting someone to live independently are important for this role.

Further Information

Work Time: The working hours are approximately 6 hours per week and can be arranged flexibly with the successful applicant, although Saturday may be the most suitable day. The ideal candidate will be patient and respectful.
