New store opening soon. Reporting to Regional Manager and directors. Join the growing Value World team. Value World is a growing discount retail business, and we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Retail Manager to take a leading role in the successful operation and development of our store in Northern Ireland. This is more than a day-to-day supervisory role. We are looking for someone who can lead from the front, manage a team, drive sales and take ownership of the overall store operation. We want a hands-on, commercially minded manager who enjoys being on the shop floor and leading a team. You should have. Ability to build a brand new business in Ballymena, become part of a local community, make good business decisions based on the area.

Responsibilities

• Health and safety of store.
• Driving sales.
• Leadership of staff and management.
• KPIs
• Delivering margin an sales as per target.
• You will be responsible for the overall performance of the store, including: Leading, motivating and developing the retail team.
• Managing staff rotas, attendance and daily workloads.
• Driving sales and achieving store targets and KPIs.
• Maintaining exceptional customer-service standards.
• Managing stock, deliveries, goods-in and stocktakes.
• Ensuring excellent merchandising, pricing and store presentation.
• Managing tills, cash handling and daily reconciliations.
• Controlling stock loss, damage and shrinkage.
• Ensuring health & safety and company procedures are maintained.
• Dealing confidently with customer issues and complaints.
• Recruiting and training staff as the business grows.
• Working closely with senior management on store development and performance.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Proven retail management or strong supervisory experience.
• Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
• A strong understanding of retail sales and customer service.
• Experience managing stock and deliveries.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence dealing with staff, customers and suppliers.
• The ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• The ambition to grow with the business.
• Discount/value retail experience would be highly advantageous.
