Job description

Strabane & District Caring Services is seeking people to provide support and assistance to individuals in their homes. Domiciliary Carers work as part of a team to provide personal and domestic care to adults at risk including the frail, elderly and those with mental and physical health issues in their own homes.

Responsibilities

• Providing domiciliary health care and other services to the community.
• Work as part of a team to provide personal and domestic care.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A full valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Teamwork skills.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Able to promote dignity and respect in care delivery.
• Able to promote and deliver personal care.

Desirable Skills

• 6 months experience in formal care setting.
• NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent.
• NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.
• Knowledge of domiciliary care minimum standards.

Further Information

Salary: Monday-Friday for Morning/Lunch and Afternoon (Tea) runs: £13.00 per hour. Monday-Thursday Bed (Night) runs: £13.15 per hour. Weekends: Friday Nights and Saturday/Sunday (all runs): £14.50 per hour. Successful applicants must be willing to carry out Access NI check. Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for. Access NI Code of Practice is available from www.nidirect.gov.uk/publications/accessni-code-practice.
