Job description

The Welding Academy will provide up to 12 individuals with the opportunity to study City & Guilds Welding Level 1 or 2 and Certified Abrasive Wheels Training and receive practical training to prepare them for work as a welder. Interested applicants are invited to attend an Information session at SWC's Kilcronagh Industrial Training Centre for Welding, Unit 6B Kilcronagh Industrial Estate, BT80 9HG on Tuesday 15 September 2026 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. SWC will invite eligible applicants to attend and interview that will take place week commencing 12 October located at their Kilcronagh Industrial Training Centre for Welding. Successful applicants must be available to attend full time intensive training at SWC’s Cookstown training venue starting Monday 26 October to Friday 4 December 2026, Monday to Thursday 8.15 . Training times are 8.15am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.15am to 1.30pm Friday. Successful participants must attend for the full period. Successful applicants will receive a Training Allowance of £185 per week - (based on full attendance) - and help with travel and childcare costs. If you successfully complete the Academy, you will be guaranteed a job interview with a supporting company. An interview is not a guarantee of a job. Applicants should note that the job roles available are not eligible for skilled worker sponsorship.

• You must be at least 18 years old on Monday 26 October 2026 and eligible to work in the UK at the time of application - proof maybe required.
