Response Assets Officer


Job description

Help ensure our homes remain safe, comfortable and welcoming places to live. As part of our Assets team, you'll oversee operational asset management across your area, working closely with colleagues and contractors to deliver an excellent service for customers. You'll enjoy a varied role where your expertise helps improve homes and communities, with opportunities to continue learning and developing.

Responsibilities

  • Follow our Asset Management Strategy procedures to deliver our response maintenance service.
  • Identify works required, prepare schedules and necessary business cases where necessary, issue works orders and oversee minor planned works.
  • Participate in appraisal of performance of contractors and take action to ensure excellent customer service and monitor outstanding jobs within your patch.
  • Assist the Development team by providing them with information regarding maintenance for new schemes via project group interaction
  • Maintain good relations with our managing partners and regularly checking repairs and property needs are supported

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Two years’ experience (within the last seven years) within a construction / facilities / maintenance environment AND a third level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant construction/facilities/maintenance environment.
  • OR Exceptional candidates who do not hold a third level qualification but have five years’ experience (within the last seven years) within a construction/ facilities/maintenance environment should also apply.
  • Experience of contract management including supervision of contracts
  • Practical experience of delivering a front facing customer focused service.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Able to work as part of a team and build collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to work outside office hours including weekends and evenings and to respond to out-of-hours emergencies when required.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel to meet the requirements of the post without reliance on public transport.

Desirable Skills

  • Professional Membership e.g. RICS, MCIOB etc
  • Previous experience in a social housing environment
