Parenting and Group Work Practitioner
Job description
Rainbows Baby Steps to Parenting Programme, which has been running for 8 years incorporates a range of funded projects which are aimed at ensuring families are holistically supported to better enable their children to reach their full potential & creating a positive impact on family well-being. The Parenting & Child Group work practitioner will help deliver our Baby Steps to Parenting programme by working as part of a team to engage, enable and support parents/carers in their child's learning and development within our setting and city wide. You will be facilitating and developing, a range of play & learning sessions with parents or parents & children including messy play, arts & crafts, Musical sessions, Glow with baby, information sessions (Toilet training, developmental miles stones etc), training sessions and weekly Stay & Play sessions. You will also be involved in home visits helping identify individual family educational/developmental needs and distribution of play/activities/development packs throughout the community. A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as the role requires travel across all areas of the city.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to planning and the delivery of services that promote parent-child interaction, nurture and support child development and offer a safe place for parents and children to play and interact to support wellbeing and enhance positive parenting
- Facilitate a range of training, activities or workshops to continue the development of our Baby Steps to Parenting Programme
- Provide and promote positive play and interactions with children and young people, supporting parents/carers in how they play and interact with their children, underpinned by the Five to Thrive ethos
- To build trusting relationships with the parents to help alleviate or break their social isolation and increase capacity

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Level 3 or above qualification in a relevant subject & 2 years experience delivering a range of activities, training and programme development
- A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as the role requires travel across all areas of the city
