Parent Support Worker
Job description
To provide a holistic supportive service to young parents who have previously been in the care of the SEHSCT. To work directly with care experienced parents and families providing practical and emotional support to promote the best outcomes for themselves and their children. To assess the individual needs of these families and formulate a plan of support, working towards shared goals. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-1 support for care experienced parents and their family.
- Ensure the safeguarding of the children and advising parents of ways to do the same.
- Support parents to instil structured activity, positive parenting and boundaries for children in the home setting and out in public.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum 1 years’ experience of working with young people aged 16-25 and/or children.
- GCSE English grade c or above.
- A full driving licence and access to a car with Business insurance.
- Work flexibly to suit the needs of our Service Users, which can include evenings and weekends.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of child development.
- Knowledge of child protection.
- Ability to work as part of a team/or on own initiative with minimum supervision and maintain good relationships with colleagues.
