The Playgroup Leader is responsible for the day-to-day management of the preschool, ensuring a safe, caring, welcoming, and active learning environment for children and their families during all preschool sessions.
Responsibilities
- The Leader is responsible for the day-to-day running of the group and ensuring that there is a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families.
- For implementing the standards laid down in DHSSPS for Child Minding and Day Care for Children Under Age 12 Minimum Standards.
- Lead staff planning sessions to ensure progression, breadth, and balance in the curriculum throughout the year.

- Keep up-to-date records as stipulated by Social Services and management (e.g. waiting lists, daily registers, and accident books), EA documentation.
- Encourage active participation from parents, keeping them fully informed of their child’s overall development.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- QCF 5 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learn and Development (or equivalent) or working towards will be considered.
- At least 2 years experience working with children aged 3-5 years old.
Desirable Skills
- First Aid or Safeguarding Certificate desirable.
