Job description

To ensure all areas of the Science Department are safe for entry and to ensure all laboratory services are maintained in proper working order.

Responsibilities

  • To assist with the computerised ordering and purchasing of any books or materials required by the Science Department. To enhance the practical deployment and development of ICT within the Science Department.
  • To ensure all areas of the Science Department are safe for entry and to ensure all laboratory services are maintained in proper working order.
  • To ensure that the laboratories, preparation rooms, stores, greenhouse and science corridors etc, are safe for any person entering, and that all laboratory services are maintained in proper and safe working order. Any equipment requiring specialist.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A-Level qualification in a science subject or Science Technician qualification.
  • Experience of preparing and undertaking a range of scientific based experiments.
  • Ability to work with young people and provide practical advice

Desirable Skills

  • Experience as a Science Technician.
  • An ability to demonstrate the method of use and give technical support in the application of equipment to students and staff.
  • - Health and safety certificate
