Job description
The Corporate Services Directorate provide the essential support functions that enable the Consumer Council to operate effectively and deliver services for consumers. This includes premises, human resources, finance and governance. As a member of the Corporate Services team, reporting to the Head of Finance and Governance, you’ll play an important role in contributing to business process review and design and audit and accreditation management to ensure compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support the Head of Finance and Governance in ensuring organisational compliance against governance, risk management and accreditation standards.
- Work across the Consumer Council, and with our funders and auditors, to monitor and deliver compliance with statutory reporting and corporate policies, including procurement.
- Manage and develop the Consumer Council’s suite of corporate policies with supporting procedures, ‘how to’ guides and management processes, in line with review schedules.
- Manage the Information Management System including testing system upgrades, user and access audits and user management, as Departmental Information Manager.
- Oversee the Consumer Council’s business continuity requirements, including annual review, resource management and testing to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to ensure effective governance, compliance, and risk management across the organisation.
- A strong understanding and experience of governance frameworks, policies and procedures with a commitment to accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple workstreams, and deliver high-quality outputs to demanding deadlines.
