Job description

To provide care and support for residents within the Christian ethos and aims of the Council for Social Witness

Responsibilities

• To help residents with dressing/undressing where necessary
• To help residents with toileting/bathing where necessary
• To accompany residents to appointments when necessary
• To encourage residents to be as active and as independent as possible
• To carry out all care tasks with respect for the residents' privacy and dignity

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people
• Willing to undertake appropriate training as required
• Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the post
• Basic numeracy required by the duties of the post
• Be willing to work flexibly
• Registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council within 6 months of appointment is a requirement of this position

Hours of duty for both day and night posts are 24.66 per week
