Job description

To work within the Domestic and Laundry Departments, while also working within the Christian ethos of Corkey House. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

• To clean and tidy toilets. To clean and tidy bathrooms. To clean and tidy bedrooms. To clean and tidy corridors. To clean and tidy sitting rooms
• To clean and tidy offices, treatment rooms etc. To follow procedures for the appropriate disposal of waste. To make beds as required. To use all equipment according to appropriate instructions.
• To follow appropriate health and safety procedures. To maintain written records as required.
• To wash, iron, itemise and distribute residents’ clothes. To wash and iron all household laundry e.g. sheets, pillowcases, napkins etc. Minor sewing repairs.
• To be in sympathy with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. To comply with all CSW policies and procedures as required
• To have an ability to treat residents as individuals and tolerate their likes and dislike. To respect the authority and direction of the senior members of Staff in the Home.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people. Awareness of health and safety practices within a working and residential environment.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home. Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
