Graduate Accountant


Job description

This role offers an excellent foundation for an aspiring accountant looking to develop their career within a successful manufacturing organisation. Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Support the analysis of material, labour and overhead costs.
  • Assist with production costing activities and review manufacturing variances.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting processes.
  • Assist with payroll reviews and expense analysis as required.
  • Support VAT, tax reporting and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Prepare documentation and data for internal and external audits.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports and assisting with internal and external audits, while developing valuable experience across a broad range of accounting functions.
