Job description

We are looking for several Full Time Healthcare Assistants (3 shifts per week) to join our Abbey View Nursing Home team, either Days or Nights. Shifts are 12 hours long from 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am between Monday to Sunday. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all daily living activities, for example, washing, dressing, toileting/incontinence and assisting with mealtimes.
• All relevant kitchen related duties including basis meal preparation.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Communicate regularly with the line manager.
• Obtain NISCC registration before employment and maintain during employment.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ensure the confidentiality of residents, colleagues and the company at all times.
• Work as part of a team.
• Follow guidelines for safe movement of clients, using appropriate equipment where necessary.
• Washing, drying and ironing duties.
• Complete all paperwork accurately.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as laid down by the company.
• Adhere to the NISCC Codes of Practice.
• Provide a quality service at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• No experience necessary.

Desirable Skills

• Kitchen or laundry experience in work or a voluntary setting.
• Studying for or attained a care related qualification.
• Be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
• Experience within a paid Nursing Home or similar environment to include personal care experience.
