At Inspire, we are a leading charity providing mental health, wellbeing and learning disability services across Northern Ireland and beyond. We are seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our Finance and Corporate Services team in Belfast on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

• Support Finance Business Partners in delivering a proactive and value-adding finance service. Build relationships with service managers and provide clear financial information to support decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary. Ensure reporting is accurate, timely and relevant to users.
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working with service managers to ensure assumptions are robust and aligned to operational plans. Assist with in-year reforecasting.
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Support the development of business cases and financial modelling where required.
• Support development and roll-out of finance systems and tools. Contribute to improving reporting, processes and data quality.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Actively studying a professional finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, AAT) OR 2 years’ experience in a finance or related discipline role.
• Applicants must demonstrate capability in a finance, analytical or data-driven context, which may have been gained through work, study, or other relevant experience. This should include evidence of:
• Using data (e.g. Excel or similar tools) to analyse, interpret and present clear information.
• Contributing to financial or numerical analysis (e.g. budgeting, reporting or project work).
• Communicating insights effectively, including to non-specialist audiences.
• Applying analytical thinking, curiosity and initiative to understand issues and identify improvements.
• Managing tasks and priorities effectively, with good organisation and attention to detail.
• Working collaboratively, building relationships and showing a proactive approach to learning and development.
