Transport Officer


Job description

DART Partnership is seeking a part-time Transport Officer to support the day-to-day delivery of our community transport services. The role will involve coordinating transport bookings, liaising with service users, carers, community groups, drivers and partner organisations, maintaining accurate records and supporting the delivery and monitoring of DART’s Access Plus and L.I.F.T. projects. Applicants should have good organisational, communication and IT skills, be confident dealing with the public and be able to manage a varied workload. Experience in administration, customer service, transport, community services or a similar environment would be advantageous. The post is 22.5 hours per week, normally worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with some flexibility required. Participation in DART’s out-of-hours emergency phone rota is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process transport bookings and journey requests.
  • Liaise with service users, carers, groups and partner organisations.
  • Allocate journeys, vehicles and drivers appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate booking, passenger and project records.
  • Use DART’s scheduling and administrative systems.
  • Support delivery of the Access Plus and L.I.F.T. projects.
  • Assist with project monitoring, statistics and reporting.
  • Respond to cancellations, changes and operational issues.
  • Provide general office and administrative support.
  • Participate in DART’s out-of-hours emergency phone rota.

  • Experience in transport, community or voluntary services.
  • Experience using booking or scheduling systems.
  • Experience working with older people or people with additional support needs.
  • Experience of project monitoring or reporting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Dementia awareness or relevant training.
