Strabane & District Caring Services has banking contracts available for Domiciliary Care Workers to provide care in the community in the Cityside, Waterside areas of Derry/Londonderry and Strabane. The Domiciliary Care worker will work as part of a team providing personal, domestic and social care at home to vulnerable individuals in the community (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health). You would available to complete 10 hours per month (minimum) covering a Friday/Saturday and Sunday.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A full valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Teamwork skills.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Able to promote dignity and respect in care delivery.
• Able to promote and deliver personal care.

Desirable Skills

• 6 months experience in formal care setting.
• NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent.
• NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.
• Knowledge of domiciliary care minimum standards.

Further Information

Weekend Banking Hours. Work Time: Rotas available, morning/lunch 7.00am-2.00pm, tea run 2.30pm-6.30pm, bed run 7.00pm-11.00pm. Salary: Morning, lunch & tea runs: Monday - Friday £13.00 per hour. Bed runs Monday - Thursday £13.15 per hour and Friday £14.50 per hour. Weekend, all runs £14.50 per hour. Mileage rate: 35p per mile. Joining Bonus - £150 (T's & C's apply).
