Playgroup Manager/Leader
Job description
The overall policies and procedures of the group are set by the Management Committee to whom the Manager /Leader is accountable. Within this framework the Manager /Leader is responsible for the day to day running of the setting , ensuring a safe , caring and welcoming environment for all the children and their families. To bring to the attention of the Chairperson or deputy any matter for which it is responsible. The Manager/Leader should however keep strictly confidential any personal information regarding the children and their families or other staff which they learn about as part of his or her/her job. Such information should only be passed on in the best interests of the child.
Responsibilities
- To maintain quality of opportunity for all children.
- To work with the Management Committee will attend and present a written report to Committee meetings (bi monthly) and the Annual General Meeting of the playgroup.
- To ensure that the playgroup is a safe environment for children, that the equipment is safe, standards of good hygiene are kept to a high standard.
- To keep up to date records as stipulated by Social Services and the requirements of the management committee.
- To work as part of the playgroup team providing effective management and leadership to ensure the delivery of safe high quality care and education for pre-school and pre-pre-school children.
- To fulfill all legal and statutory requirements and to contribute to and implement the playgroups policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A level 5 qualification in Childcare /Early Year or A level 3 with a willingness to work towards Level 5.
- At least 2 years experience working in an early years setting if you hold a level 5
- If you hold a level 3 at least 3 years paid experience.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of ETI inspections.
- Experience of Health and social care trust inspection.
- Experience of PSEEP funding.
- Current Paediatric First Aid and Level 2 Food hygiene.
- Current safeguarding and child protection certification.
