Job description

We are looking for a cleaning operative to join our team in Derry/Londonderry.

Responsibilities

• Dust and wipe desks, tables, counters, and other surfaces.
• Remove spills and spot-clean floors and carpets.
• Periodic cleaning duties.
• High-level dusting of vents, ledges, and fittings.
• Upholstery and furniture cleaning.
• Maintain waste storage areas in a clean condition.
• Report hazards, accidents, defects, and spillages immediately.
• Report faulty equipment.
• Adhere to infection control standards.
• Remove litter from external areas.
• Clean doors, handles, light switches, and touch points.
• Clean mirrors, glass panels, and internal windows.
• Clean kitchens, canteens, and break areas
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, reception areas, and corridors.
• Deep clean washrooms and sanitary facilities.
• Machine scrub and polish hard floors. Carpet cleaning and stain removal.
• Internal and external window cleaning.
• Clean walls, skirting boards, and ceilings
• Descale taps, sinks, showers, and washroom fittings
• Waste management, collect and segregate waste. Dispose of general, recycling, and confidential waste correctly. Operate waste compactors and balers where required.
• Health & Safety Duties Follow COSHH procedures and chemical safety guidelines. Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly. Wear appropriate PPE.
• Place warning signs during cleaning activities.
• Maintain cleaning records and checklists.
• Equipment & stock control. Clean and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Monitor stock levels of chemicals and consumables
• Ensure storage cupboards are clean and secure.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly. Follow colour-coded cleaning procedures.
• Perform enhanced cleaning during outbreaks or contamination incidents.
• External areas sweep entrances and walkways.
• Clean smoking shelters and waste bins. Maintain cleanliness around building perimeters.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and washrooms. Replenish soap, toilet paper, hand towels, and hygiene supplies. Empty bins and replace liners.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Full training will be provided.
• Access NI security clearance will be provided (see further information below).
