HGV Class 1 Drivers Night Shifts & Weekends Industrial Temps are proud to be working in partnership with Royal Mail, the UK's designated Universal Postal Service Provider, to recruit HGV Class 1 Drivers based at their busy Newtownabbey Distribution Centre. We are particularly looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers who are available for night shifts, back shifts and weekend work. As an HGV Driver, following a successful assessment, your main responsibility will be to transport parcels and mail between depots within the Royal Mail Network. The role involves minimal manual handling, with shifts scheduled a week in advance. We offer competitive pay rates and regular night and weekend opportunities, making this an ideal role for drivers looking to maximise their earnings outside traditional Monday to Friday daytime hours. You will be required to successfully complete a CRB security check following registration.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport parcels and mail between Royal Mail depots
• Ensure the HGV Class 1 vehicle is in good condition and complete pre-shift checks
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain communication with dispatch and colleagues to ensure smooth operations

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Night and weekend availability
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card with recorded data
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
• At least 180 days / 6 months HGV1 experience within the past year
• UK-issued Class 1 (CE) licence held for at least 12 months
• Maintain communication with dispatch and colleagues to ensure smooth operations
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
• Ensure the HGV Class 1 vehicle is in good condition and complete pre-shift checks
• Safely transport parcels and mail between Royal Mail depots
