Job description

Brooke House Health & Well-Being Centre leads the Northern Ireland VALOUR Network, a region-wide partnership supporting veterans, serving personnel and Armed Forces families. This is a non-clinical role providing person-centred health and wellbeing support, assessment and navigation for veterans and the wider Armed Forces community, working as part of a roving team delivering support directly in local communities across all six counties.

Responsibilities

  • Assess health and wellbeing needs and develop person-centred support plans
  • Help beneficiaries navigate health, social care and mental health services
  • Deliver regional "roving" clinics across the Network's six Partner Spoke locations
  • Provide appropriate non-clinical support to beneficiaries experiencing emotional or psychological distress, escalating concerns in line with agreed procedures
  • Maintain accurate records using the Lamplight CRM and support outcome data collection

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A relevant qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience, in health and wellbeing, health promotion, social care, community development, support services or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience of providing person-centred support to individuals with health, wellbeing or complex support needs
  • Experience of assessing individual needs, developing support or action plans and managing a caseload with accurate records
  • Good working knowledge of health and wellbeing services and referral pathways, including factors affecting physical, mental and social wellbeing
  • Ability to help individuals navigate services, address barriers, promote prevention and independence, and recognise when clinical or specialist referral is required

Desirable Skills

  • A relevant professional qualification or significant experience in health, social care, counselling, health promotion, mental health, wellbeing or a related discipline
  • Experience of working with veterans, serving personnel, Armed Forces families or another group facing comparable barriers to accessing services
  • Experience of mental-health or emotional-wellbeing support, health-promotion, prevention or community-wellbeing programmes
  • Experience of multi-agency management and/or knowledge of trauma-informed practice when supporting people with multiple or complex needs

Further Information

Location: Flexible across Northern Ireland, with travel required. Contract: This is a funded, fixed-term post to 31 March 2029. Any continuation beyond this date will be subject to future funding and organisational requirements and cannot be guaranteed. Applications for part-time working, including 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week), will also be considered. Salary will be pro rata for part-time appointments.
