An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mechanical/design engineer graduate to work on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) collaborative project with Mercer PME Ltd and Southern Regional College(SRC) for a 3-year post to developing in-house engineering capability to deliver scalable, high performance industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Company and academic supervisors as required with respect to project management. The post-holder is expected to take an active role in driving the project
• Develop a pilot project demonstrating ‘proof of concept’ as part of a change management program
• Develop a Roadmap and Action Plan as part of a Change Management Program
• Manage and review Action Plan
• Complete Information Technology Readiness Assessments with ‘gap analyses’ within the Company
• Work towards the strategic goals of the company under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership
• Identify industry standards or certification relative to the company goals
• Assist in research
• Develop an understanding of data analysis techniques

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A minimum of a Level 5 qualification or Higher in a Mechatronics, Mechanical or Product Design Engineering related subject area obtained within the last five years (i.e. Foundation Degree, Degree)
• A pass grade at GCSE Level in English Language or Essential Skills Level 2 in Literacy or an equivalent qualification
• A pass grade at GCSE Level in Mathematics or Essential Skills Level 2 in Numeracy or NICATS Access Math's Modules or an equivalent qualification
• Demonstrable proficiency in engineering design using SolidWorks, with the ability to work in accordance with established engineering design standards and best practice
• Do you hold a full (i.e.) not provisional, current driving license which enables you to drive in Northern Ireland, and a car for official business, or have access to a form of transport which will enable you to meet the requirements of the post

Desirable Skills

• Experience with automation, robotics, sensors, and control systems integration
• Knowledge of lean and business improvement techniques
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0 principles and food processing standards
