Playwork Assistant. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and responsible Playwork Assistant to join our after-school and holiday childcare team. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for children, supporting their social, emotional and physical development through a range of fun, age-appropriate activities. The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, friendly and approachable, with a genuine interest in working with children.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and engaging with children during after-school and holiday sessions.
• Supporting and organising indoor and outdoor play, games, crafts and activities.
• Ensuring children are safe, happy and well cared for at all times.
• Building positive and respectful relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
• Supporting children's individual needs and encouraging positive behaviour.
• Helping with snacks, mealtimes and general routines.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and welcoming play environment.
• Following all safeguarding, health and safety and childcare policies and procedures.
• Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the setting.
• Attending relevant training and contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Childcare or Teaching Assistant Qualification.

Desirable Skills

• Safeguarding & Child Protection Paediatric First Aid Food Hygiene Driving Licence
• Applicants without these qualifications must be willing to complete the relevant training.
