Job description

To support the residents in their rehabilitation programmes within the policies and standards of PCI, Thompson House, the Probation Board and within the Christian ethos of PCI to ensure quality of service delivery.

Responsibilities

• To participate in the admission of residents
• To participate in the assessment of individual residents in conjunction with professional staff to draw up and implement rehabilitation plans
• Under the supervision of professional staff to undertake key work responsibilities for designated individual residents, including participation in monitoring and reviewing residents' progress on a regular basis.
• To participate in the rehabilitation programme of the residents, including one to one work and social and independent living skills development.
• To communicate the Christian faith, appropriately, by word and action, both individually and as part of a team. This will include facilitating bible studies, Christianity Explored courses, devotions and prayers at team meetings.
• To accompany and support residents in attending church when requested, and as approved.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• GCSE passes in 4 subjects, grades A-C, including English Language and Maths or equivalent
• Knowledge of health and safety practices in a residential setting
• Knowledge of best practices in rehabilitation of ex-offenders
• At least 1 years' experience supporting adults in a caring/residential setting
• Experience in administrative duties, including record writing
• Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
• Must be available for flexible working on a rota across 24/7 hors, including sleep-ins as required
• Must be eligible and willing to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council

Further Information

Hours of work 37.5 per week, worked flexibly on a rota basis across 24/7 hours. Sleep-in duties are also required.
