Job description

To contribute to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive service to support NIHE business delivery by providing a painting/decorating service for Housing Executive properties while upholding safety guidelines and complying with all applicable Codes and Regulations in line with our vision and values.

Responsibilities

• To apply paint, stain, varnish, primers, sealers and fungicidal solution as and when required to timber, metal, plaster and masonry work etc.
• To carry out any required preparation by stripping, sanding, wire brushing to maintain doors, door frames, windows, timber, metal and masonry etc.
• To remove and refit fixtures and fittings, ironmongery as required.
• To fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knifes.
• To provide a quality customer service and maintain a good customer relationship on behalf of the NIHE.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Have successfully completed an apprenticeship in Painting/Decorating (either time served or skills based).
• 2 years’ post Apprenticeship Painting/Decorating experience.
• Be willing to undertake additional training outside of core trade including Level 2 Multi-skilling or be willing to attain within a specified time frame.
