Curatorial D Senior Heritage Data Manager
Job description
The post-holder will report to a Curatorial Grade C / Assistant Director and will be expected to develop key management / professional specialisms appropriate to the role. They will use their experience and knowledge of historic environment data to manage the working and improvements of HED’s heritage data systems to meet the needs of the stakeholders, Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that HED data is reliable, authoritative and accessible as a source of information for both internal and external users.
- Management of projects and programmes to enhance and improve the data in HED’s Arches system and related HED datasets.
- Overseeing the routine administration of HED’s Arches system and delivery of business-as-usual tasks relating to data ingest, improvement and user support.
- Answering and triaging enquiries and requests for information which come into the team and assigning colleagues to respond.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- An Honours degree (Level 6) in Archaeology, Architecture, Architectural History or a relevant historic environment discipline.
- Or An Honours degree (Level 6) in a relevant discipline, and a post-graduate (Level 7 or higher) qualification in Archaeology, Architecture, Architectural History or a relevant historic environment discipline.
- And At least three years’ post-graduation experience of front-end system management, preferably involving a heritage data system.
- And At least one year’s experience of working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
