Job description

The Mixing Room Operative is responsible for accurately weighing, preparing and issuing raw materials to support efficient production while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Meat Inspection Tables / Materials Handling: Inspect, trim and prepare raw meat by removing bone, excess fat and any non-conforming material in accordance with production schedules, quality standards, product specifications and food safety procedures
• Spice Room Operative: Weigh, measure and prepare raw materials batches in line with production schedules, specifications and work instructions.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Readiness to work and complete on the job training, which is up to 12 weeks.
• Communication skills including English language skills, reading, writing and numerical.
• Ability to work as part of a team with self-motivation and initiative.
• Proven level of manual dexterity and speed.
• Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience within a food environment and an understanding of food hygiene and safety is desirable.
