Job description

The Area Manager is responsible for the delivery of a front line, comprehensive housing service, within a designated Area in the North Region, and will lead and support their team to meet the needs of customers and other business objectives. To contribute to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive service to support NIHE business delivery and our vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of a front line, comprehensive and customer focussed housing service.
• Engage with stakeholders, incuding residents, representatives and internal / external agencies to foster vibrant communities, within geographical neighbourhoods.
• Responsible for the delivery of Community Safety Strategies, including the effective management of Anti Social Behaviour and Estate Management Services.
• Reponsible for developing community, polictical and voluntary networks, including Housing Community Network and Scrutiny Panel.
• Management of the Community Grants fund services together with Community Cohesion projects.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A degree level qualification (level 6) or equivalent professional qualification or can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning and have at least 4 years’ experience working within a housing function.
• A detailed knowledge of relevant legislative and statutory procedures, the regulatory framework and influences in relation to the housing management functions and related services.

Location: All of our employees are assigned a base location, which for this role will be one of the local offices in the South Antrim Area (Antrim/Newtownabbey) in the North Region. The role includes regular travel throughout NI.
