IT Server Infrastructure Senior Officer
Job description
The IT Server Infrastructure Senior Officer is responsible to the IT Infrastructure Manager and will assist the management of day-to-day operations of the Trust ICT Server and Storage Infrastructure ensuring the effective operation of all services utilizing Trust server infrastructure. The post holder will provide expert technical assistance to the IT Infrastructure Manager for operational management and implementation of complex technical solutions across a diverse range of ICT areas and provide technical / supervisory support to sub-ordinate staff within the Server Infrastructure Team.
Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of developments of the server infrastructure and application technologies used within SHSCT, review these developments and advise on their potential impact and benefits.
- Responsible for Development and maintenance of comprehensive and agreed project plans in accordance with SHSCT standards.
- Input to change management activities whilst liaising with various stakeholders and the SHSCT Change Advisory Board (CAB).
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- HND/Degree or equivalent in Information Communications Technology, Computer Science or similar and 2 years’ experience in the development, support and administration of a complex ICT server infrastructure OR 5 years’ experience in the development.
- (cont) OR 5 years’ experience in the development, support and administration of a complex ICT Server Infrastructure.
- Hold current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
Desirable Skills
- Previous IT experience in an NHS environment.
- Experience with Blade Server Architecture, Virtualisation software.
- Ability to write good technical documentation.
