Job description

The Primary Care Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Business Manager will support a range of system-wide collaborative initiatives to support the delivery of Integrated Care. They will work collaboratively across organisational and professional boundaries to support the ongoing development of Primary Care MDTs. The post holder will support the development of programmes of work and key enablers for Integrated Care on a local and regional basis. It is therefore expected that the Primary Care MDT Business Manager will work closely with, senior staff within the Directorate of Primary Care DoPC Clinicians, DoH GP Federations, HSC Trusts and Partner organisations and will actively lead in the development of Integrated Care in their designated area.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead, with clinicians and senior staff, in the management of Integrated Care programmes from initiation to implementation and delivery, to include leading time-limited project teams to deliver major service design.
  • Work in partnership with all key stakeholders to design, develop and deliver integrated care pathway plans, performance and monitoring frameworks
  • Ensure the delivery of major strategic change whilst maintaining the effective engagement and involvement of all key stakeholders in integrated care projects across primary and secondary care
  • Contribute to the overarching Integrated Care strategic and business planning processes to include demand management, service and pathway redesign.
  • Provide an area wide leadership role and offer advice and expertise for a range of complex health development priorities.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A university degree or equivalent professional qualification at NVQ Level 6 and at least 3 years’ experience in a managerial role in HSC or similar level organisation OR
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role in HSC or similar level organisation.
  • Demonstrate experience of a least 1 year in a leadership role in multi- disciplinary and/or partnership working.
  • In particular the ability to lead, develop and maintain working relationships with a wide range of individuals and in particular primary care independent contractors.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels in an organisation (both internal and external), including the ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate management experience in having delivered challenging work programmes for a minimum of 2 years, meeting a range of targets and making significant improvements.
  • Demonstrate experience in financial management through experience of programme budgetary management or monitoring financial allocations.
  • Experience of at least 3 years in the supervision/management of staff.
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
  • This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by SPPG which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.

Desirable Skills

  • Evidence of 2 years recent in a project management role delivering large / complex service improvement, quality improvement, ICT or transformation programmes.
  • Have knowledge and experience of utilising a Project Management Methodology, e.g. Prince II or similar methodologies to deliver.
  • Demonstrable experience of analytical skills to extract, analyse, interpret, complex multi-faceted information from a range of HSC systems/sources to monitor and evaluate programme outcomes and inform service improvements.
