Peripatetic Project Worker
Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Peripatetic Project Worker supporting residents across Supported Housing services in the Belfast Trust Area. The role helps people with mental health needs build confidence, develop independent living skills and move towards greater community independence.
Responsibilities
- Supporting residents with medication, meal preparation, routines and daily living tasks
- Encouraging independence in areas such as budgeting, appointments, self-care and practical life skills
- Building trusting relationships and engaging residents in meaningful activities
- Responding to safeguarding concerns and incidents appropriately
- Completing support records, reviews and care planning using multiple IT systems
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred support
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis across Supported Housing Services. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, long day, shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or waking night cover as required to meet the needs
- Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Business Insurance is a requirement for this position. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a driver’s
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- OR A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.
